Happy National Volunteer Week! Alzheimer’s San Diego is fortunate to work with hundreds of active volunteers and interns – from ALZ Companions, to education assistants, and so many more. Thank you for donating your time and passion.
As our entire organization has adapted to the coronavirus pandemic, our volunteers have also had to pivot. We’re hoping your experiences can inspire others to find new ways to connect during this public health crisis. To that end, we are excited to launch our first-ever storytelling contest! The prompt is:
Creativity during COVID: Share how a lesson you learned as a volunteer at Alzheimer’s San Diego helped you cope during the pandemic OR how you’ve still managed to connect as a volunteer despite social distancing.
This competition is open to all volunteers and interns. You can pick one of the following ways to enter:
- Write an essay (not to exceed 750 words)
- Create a video (not to exceed 90 seconds)
The winner will receive:
- Recognition on CBS News 8
- Recognition at the Walk4ALZ in October
- $100 Visa gift card
To enter, simply email your essay or video to Adrianna McCollum, Director of Volunteer Programs, at amccollum@alzsd.org. The deadline to enter is May 31st, 11:59 PST. A winner will be announced by the end of June.
Good luck!
