We are just weeks away from the virtual Rides4ALZ – a 108-mile motorcycle ride to support the 84,000+ in San Diego County living with Alzheimer’s and related dementias. 

Things will look a bit different this year as you can choose to ride the official recommended route or create your own route. The start time is flexible as well, and we advise riding in smaller groups (per CDC guidelines) to stay safe. We hope you’ll join us, as we have some exciting new things planned to keep the spirit of this event going strong:

Selfie scavenger hunt

Take selfies of yourself along the route for your chance to win! Here are the rules to enter:

1) You must complete a total of 3 selfie photos at each of these designated locations:

  • 1 selfie at Alzheimer’s San Diego
  • 1 selfie at Coronado
  • 1 selfie at Pio Pico
  • OR 1 selfie at your favorite part along the route.

2) Then you must send your selfie/selfies to us by either:

  • Emailing Rides4ALZ@alzsd.org 
  • OR posting on social media as a public post, tagging Alzheimer’s San Diego and using the hashtag #rides4alz
  • OR by texting them to 925.786.2566 along with your name and email address

The contest ends Sunday, July 19th at 5 PM. Two winners will be selected to win a free $25 Visa gift card OR a Rides4ALZ 2021 waived registration fee (a $50 value). We’ll be announcing the winner on Tuesday, July, 21st. Good luck!

Professional photos

Thanks to our sponsor Jingoli Power, we’ll be providing two professional photographers along the recommended route to capture you in action. A free online link to the event photos will be available after the Ride.

Incentive items will be delivered via mail

  1. ALL RIDERS will receive a navy short-sleeve t-shirt and bandana
  2. First gear ($250+) will receive a bottle opener keychain 
  3. Second Gear ($500+) will receive a grey trucker hat
  4. Full Throttle ($1,000+) will receive a navy long sleeve shirt

No Pio Pico Pit Stop

Due to safety precautions, this year we will not be holding a Pit Stop at Pio Pico. However, our sponsor Burns & McDonnell has come up with a creative new way to support the Ride.

The TOP 20 RIDERS who fundraise the most will receive a care package in the mail thanks to Burns & McDonnell which will include UberEats gift cards. To see where you stand currently on our leaderboard visit the Rides website. 

Volunteer Cheer Squad

We will have wonderful volunteers scattered along the route to cheer on our riders with signs and bells!
