Our annual Visionary event was back in full effect on May 5, 2023 on a day filled with sunshine in La Jolla. The luncheon and auction was held at the Cuvier Club for the first time, which provided a beautiful patio and dining room for our guests.
We kicked off the day with the reception hour and silent auction, which included a variety of items from unique art pairings to resort getaways and much more. It was lovely seeing so many familiar faces that are involved with other aspects of our organization, or who we’ve had relationships as donors or clients. Guests then moved into the dining room for the main program where we honored our former Director of Education and current Chief Community Health Officer at Grossmont Healthcare District, Amy Abrams, MSW/MPH. She delivered some wonderful words about her journey and connection to Alzheimer’s disease. Amy also spoke on how valuable our resources are to the community, as well as the support received from local leaders and organizations. Her impact on Alzheimer’s San Diego is still evident today and we continue to water the roots she planted in the community.
The program then proceeded to the live auction, where plenty of excitement ensued. Our auctioneer Clint Bell kept everyone on their toes as he playfully poked at familiar guests in attendance and had the room in great spirits as people bid over inclusive trips to France, San Francisco, and who would be the first to valet of course. Among other items in the live and silent auctions were art pairings by artists with dementia and professional artists, which you can see in the photo gallery below.
